A higher-resolution file gives you more pixels to inspect. It does not, by itself, tell you whether a face, a product label or a moving hand stayed correct.
MiniMax describes H3 as a three-stage system: Context-IR, Base and Regenerate-2K. Understanding those stages helps you decide what to review and which inputs to keep for another attempt.
This guide explains the published workflow. It does not present a JMovie resolution comparison or claim that a particular shot improves at 2K.
Start with the complete request
The request includes more than the text prompt. Reference files, their roles, the duration, aspect ratio and generation settings all influence what the model is being asked to make.
Keep a record of that complete combination. If a later version changes the product, you need to know whether the inputs changed as well as the output resolution.
In JMovie, select the model first, then inspect the modes and output settings available for that model. The controls in your current workflow determine what you can submit; a capability described in a supplier announcement may use a different entry point.
Context-IR prepares the conditioning
Context-IR processes the supplied context for the generation stages. Its job sits between your text and references and the video model that uses them.
The Context-IR API documentation describes supported input combinations. Reference inputs and first/last-frame inputs are separate modes with compatibility rules. Supplying more files is only useful when their roles are supported and clear.
For example, a product reference answers a different question from an opening frame. One helps define the object; the other specifies the picture at the start. Read the input-mode guide before choosing between them.
Base establishes the moving shot
The Base stage produces the initial video at 768P in MiniMax’s published H3 pipeline. Use that result to judge the shot’s action, timing, composition and continuity.
If the camera moves to the wrong side of a room, diagnose the shot plan. If a bottle changes its shape, review the references and movement. Increasing resolution should not be your first response to either problem.
Choose a base result because its motion and structure serve the edit. A result that looks attractive in one paused frame may still fail during playback.
Regenerate-2K uses the source and its context
MiniMax’s regeneration API operates on compatible source output with the required generation context. Do not assume it accepts any video downloaded from another tool.
Save the source result and the parameters needed by the supported workflow. Check the current source constraints before submitting. If JMovie exposes a higher-resolution option directly, review that option and its quote; this article does not imply there are three separate stage buttons in the product.
Compare the base and higher-resolution versions at matching moments. Check whether added detail remains stable as objects move. Inspect the intended delivery size too: a magnified still and a phone-sized video answer different questions.
Check what was released and what you are buying
The August 3 open-source announcement covers H3 Base. Keep that scope separate from the full hosted pipeline when discussing availability or reproducing a result.
For a paid attempt, review the complete quote and keep separate records for generation and any additional stage. Report the cost of the usable result, including unsuccessful attempts that preceded it.
The final acceptance check remains the same at either resolution: does the moving shot preserve the subject, perform the intended action and fit the edit? If it does, then judge whether the extra detail is useful at your delivery size.
